LAMS is a non-profit group whose purpose is to foster and expand the understanding and appreciation of mycology (that is the study of mushrooms and fungi).

We create and sponsor fun mushroom related events and help people learn about and identify mushrooms they find in the Los Angeles area.

 October 20, 2008: (Monday) 8:00 PM Next LAMS General Meeting.

As usual, the meeting will be held in the Times Mirror Meeting Room at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, 900 Exposition Blvd in Los Angeles. The speaker and topic have not been announced at this time, but will bean announced here in early October. The program will be at 8:00 PM with a mushroom identification and business meeting at 7:00 PM

Due to the scarcity of wild mushrooms during the warm months in southern California meetings are not held  during the summer months.

Jill Swift Memorial Walk   A memorial walk dedicated to the memory, life and tireless work of long time LAMS member Jill Swift is scheduled for the following date: Sunday June 22, 2008. Time: 1:00PM. Place: meet at the trailhead directly across from Braemar Country Club 4001 Reseda Blvd., Tarzana.
